In ACC Liverpool’s first year we attracted 618,000 visitors to 269 events, generating an economic impact of £207m to the city region. Since then, we have attracted 5.3 million visitors to more than 2,700 events and generated £1.1bn in economic benefit for the local economy.
The ACC Liverpool Group delivered £126m of economic benefit to Liverpool and the region in 2015. More than 427,000 visitors over 307 event days attended a mix of local, national and international conferences, public and trade exhibitions and arena events. In February 2015 ACC Liverpool retained its crown as M&IT’s Best Conference Venue (Gold) for the third year running. Since opening in 2008, The ACC Liverpool Group has generated £1.1bn in economic benefit for the local economy.
In 2015 ACC Liverpool opened its new venue Exhibition Centre Liverpool, making it the only purpose-built interconnected arena, conference and exhibition centre in Europe. The venue welcomed back the Royal College of Nursing for a fourth time and was chosen to host the 47th Union World Conference on Lung Health. It won the right to host the Netball World Cup which will take place in the city in 2019. ACC Liverpool welcomed back the Labour Party in 2016. ACC Liverpool retained its crown as the Best UK Conference Centre at the M & IT Awards for the fourth year running in February 2016.
