In the summer of 2013 ACC Liverpool welcomed now former Liverpool footballer Steven Gerrard to his glittering testimonial dinner. Hall 2 of the BT Convention Centre was transformed into a lavish banqueting hall for around 1,000 guests, the Liverpool football team and a host of celebrities and sports people.
Production was provided by ACC Liverpool's in-house production team who created an innovative bespoke lighting installation which included centrally set stretched sails to reflect the city’s rich maritime history. A LED lit centre piece was framed by two large 24ft wide screens housing all the bespoke video content and presentations as well as live camera to screen. The team worked closely with LFC TV to supply camera feeds to their outside broadcast trucks, who then transmitted live.
The production team used WYSIWYG in pre-production to design the visuals for the client which the team then delivered. As well as a comprehensive L’Acoustic Arcs line array sound system, the technical team installed stretched ceiling enhancements drapes across the roof, closing in to create that intimate banquet space and feel.
Speaking of his experience with ACC Liverpool's production team, event organiser James Corcoran, Sportcel said “The event was a great success. Our thanks go to the entire ACC Liverpool team for their organisation leading up to and during the gala dinner. We received only positive feedback from guests.”
