Conference and Fireworks
Lyreco, an office and solutions supplies company, has held its annual sales conference at ACC Liverpool for the past five years since 2009.
Pre-2009 the event was held at other locations including the Hilton Birmingham Metropole Hotel. Helen Moran, Lyreco Marketing Communications Manager, said: “ACC Liverpool ticks all the boxes for us, the venue is the right size for our conference and it is in an excellent location with city centre hotels all within walking distance. Cost is also a key driver for us with budgets a challenge – ACC Liverpool always tailors a package that we can afford.”
The 2013 event coincided with ACC Liverpool celebrating its fifth birthday on 12 January. ACC Liverpool’s Stephanie Macfarlane, National Sales Manager, and Xavi Pamies, Production Manager, presented a cake to Moran and Carole Keene, Marketing Director, which was made by our in-house caterers and decorated with ‘Celebrating five years together.’
Main planning for the event took place in the last quarter of 2012 with invites sent to delegates in September. The conference included a review of the previous year and updated staff about future launches and company plans, the theme for the entire event was The Future Is Now. Lyreco’s new Managing Director, Peter Hradisky, opened the sales conference in the auditorium in BT Convention Centre and the event included several presentations from Lyreco management and product training.
ACC Liverpool’s in-house catering professionals provided catering for the gala dinner which opened with a champagne reception for the top performers of the year and a 10 minute firework display on the waterfront. Guests were able to watch the fireworks from the riverside balcony within the venue before heading into Hall 2 for dinner.
Production was provided by Mammoth Events and ACC Liverpool’s in-house specialist production team provided support which included lighting design for the main set in hall one, operating the sound and lighting systems in halls one and three and setting up equipment such as projectors and sound systems in break-out rooms. ACC Liverpool sourced a DJ for Lyreco as part of its At Your Service offering – a menu of value added services that clients can choose from for their event.
Other production aspects included the conference opening with a ‘countdown’ video from 50 to zero and Hradisky arrived on stage veiled in smoke and surrounded by pyrotechnics.
Moran said: “Having worked with the ACC Liverpool team for five years, they know our event so well and always provide an excellent level of support, they did a cracking job.
“Feedback received from our post-event delegate survey was very positive with many saying they found the conference both engaging and energising – leaving them ready to face 2013.
“We are currently in the process of confirming our 2014 sales conference with ACC Liverpool.”
