ACC Liverpool welcomed BBC Worldwide for the sixth time for its annual Showcase.
The star-studded event included a celebration of 25 years since Absolutely Fabulous burst onto our TV screens. Both Jennifer Saunders and Joanna Lumley hosted a gala evening as part of the four day conference.
Other celebrities who attended BBC Worldwide Showcase included Let It Shine judges Gary Barlow and Dannii Minogue, Sherlock star Mark Gatiss and Top Gear’s Matt LeBlanc. Ed Westwick, Joel Dommett and Call The Midwife’s Steven McGann and Heidi Thomas were among other guests who took to the red carpet.
The event, now in its 41st year, took place in BT Convention Centre and Echo Arena - both part of the ACC Liverpool campus together with Exhibition Centre Liverpool. Two separate gala dinners took place in Echo Arena – the first dinner featured a British, bold and creative theme and the venue was then transformed overnight for a Blue Planet II theme. Hall two of BT Convention Centre housed specially constructed digi booths for more than 700 international TV buyers to watch 3,000 hours of British television content.
Bob Prattey, chief executive of The ACC Liverpool Group, said: “BBC Worldwide Showcase is a prestigious conference and every year we work closely with the BBC team to ensure we deliver a successful event. It is also a fantastic opportunity to showcase our city and our venue to hundreds of international delegates.
“We look forward to continuing our partnership so that we can help develop this globally recognised event.”
BBC Worldwide Showcase is the world’s largest international TV market to be hosted by a single distributor. The event is attended by more than 700 of the world’s top TV buyers, award-winning producers and on-screen talent.
