CMP ENTERTAINMENT, are proud to announce, Liverpool band, THE FARM, PLUS SPECIAL GUESTS will be reuniting for a special Summer Pops show on Friday 18th July 2008.

"We're all really looking forward to our first Summer Pops show" said singer Peter Hooton "It's gonna be a great night, our first full gig in Liverpool for 15 years."
 
Liverpool favourites The Farm formed in 1983 by former youth worker Peter Hooton. By 1990 The Farm suddenly found themselves caught up in the Manchester "baggy" boom that dominated British pop music during the late '80's and early '90's. The Farm were very politically orientated, carrying a strong socialist message and were dubbed the 'Soul of Socialism'.
 
In 1990 they collaborated with the dance producer Terry Farley, whose previous work included The Happy Mondays and The Soup Dragons. They released a cover of the Monkees hit 'Stepping Stone.' The single catapulted The Farm onto the same baggy-pants, indie-dance club culture, Manchester scene as the likes of The Happy Mondays, The Soup Dragons and The Stone Roses.
 
Their next two singles 'Groovy Train' and 'All Together Now' became U.K. top ten hits and the anthemic ‘All Together Now’, reached the top five, selling over 500,000 copies. In 1991 by their debut album, Spartacus, entered the UK charts at number 1.
 
If these placings were not proof enough of the Farm's newfound fame, the next achievement certainly was: the band's football connection was sealed when toy manufacturers Subbuteo designed a unique team-kit, just for the band.
 
Later they also had the great honour of playing, alongside frequent collaborator Pete Wylie, Ian Mculloch and Gerry Marsden to 15,000 Liverpool football fans for the "Last Night Of The Kop", before Liverpool FC's legendary terrace was demolished.
