ECHO Arena Liverpool will be lit up with lights, lasers and special effects when the UK’s most popular classical music show Classical Spectacular comes to Liverpool on Saturday 19 April 2008 at 7.30pm for the very first time. 

Seen by over 2 million people around the world, Classical Spectacular features a state of the art lighting rig complete with stunning new light and laser display.   A combined cast of over 200 musicians perform a superb programme including Ravel’s Bolero, Strauss' Blue Danube Waltz, Carl Orff's O Fortuna and Handel’s Hallelujah Chorus as well as favourites Nessun Dorma, Land of Hope and Glory, Rule Britannia.

Classical Spectacular will be performed by the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra and conducted by John Rigby, featuring Claire Wild soprano, Paul O’Neill tenor and the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Chorus.  Joining this prestigious ensemble are the Muskets and Cannons of the Moscow Militia.

The evening culminates with a sensational finale to the music of the 1812 Overture with thundering muskets and cannons, accompanied by an explosive indoor fireworks and laser show, which promises to make Classical Spectacular a truly memorable event.
