ACC Liverpool welcomed around 740 delegates to the UK’s largest travel industry event, from March 3–4.
VisitBritain, with support from Marketing Liverpool, organised the conference for 300 international buyers from 40 countries interested in doing business with UK travel trade suppliers.
Hall 2 of BT Convention Centre, part of ACC Liverpool, was transformed with Best of Britain branding situated throughout the venue. The hall was set up for a series of one to one meetings.
The aim was to attract more international visitors to the UK as 2015 was a record-breaking year for inbound tourism to Britain.
More than 30,000 business meetings took place, a gala dinner was held at Liverpool Cathedral and buyers took part in FAM trips.
Kerrin MacPhie, director of conference and exhibition sales at ACC Liverpool, said: “This was ExploreGB’s first time in Liverpool so provided us with the opportunity to showcase the venue and the city to global buyers from countries such as USA, Australia and China.
“The venue was used in an interesting and productive way for the event so that many meetings were able to take place which created a real buzz and a vibrant atmosphere."
Delegates heard updates about the latest inbound travel market trends and attended seminars and networking events.
