ACC Liverpool welcomed BBC Worldwide for the fifth time for its annual Showcase.
The star-studded event, which celebrated its 40th anniversary at the venue - home to BT Convention Centre, Echo Arena and Exhibition Centre Liverpool - included the unveiling of the new Top Gear team together for the first time.
David Beckham attended for the launch of his new documentary For The Love of the Game. Louis Theroux interviewed Sir David Attenborough about his new series Planet Earth II. Vlogging stars Joe and Caspar drew crowds of fans around the waterfront venue and Philip Glenister, Claire Goose, Stephen Tompkinson and Kris Marshall were among other star guests.
Hall two of BT Convention Centre was transformed to house specially constructed digi booths for more than 700 international TV buyers to watch British television content. Sherlock Holmes’ drawing room featured in another area of the venue.
Bob Prattey, chief executive of The ACC Liverpool Group, said: “BBC Worldwide Showcase gives us the opportunity to show the flexibility of our venue and this year was no exception as both the arena and the convention centre underwent a spectacular transformation.
“We were honoured to welcome the hundreds of global delegates for such a special year as Showcase celebrated its 40th anniversary.”
BBC Worldwide, the commercial arm of the BBC and the largest distributor of TV programming outside of the US, launched hundreds of hours of highly anticipated original content at BBC Worldwide Showcase 2016. The event included premier screenings covering drama, natural history, music, comedy, science, history, documentaries, formats and factual entertainment.
