ACC Liverpool is set to welcome back The Royal College of Nursing (RCN) for a fourth time for its annual congress.
The venue, home to BT Convention Centre, Echo Arena and Exhibition Centre Liverpool, has confirmed that the association will bring up to 6,500 delegates in May 2017. The event will take place over five days.
RCN held its annual congress at ACC Liverpool in 2011 and, following a successful event, returned in 2013 and again in 2014. The 2017 event will take place across the entire waterfront site.
Brian French, conference and events manager of RCN, said: “Every event has been a great success and we are always pleased with the support we receive for all aspects of the conference - including our social activity and accommodation - to ensure that delegates make the most of their time in Liverpool.
“A successful evening programme during the 2013 congress included a Dine Around the Dock, Rock Around the Clock, event for delegates to dine at different venues around the Albert Dock before returning to ACC Liverpool for a party. We took the decision to return in 2017 as we will now be able to hold our dinner and party under one roof for the first time thanks to the opening of Exhibition Centre Liverpool.”
The congress provides an opportunity for members to take part in its debating forum, share nursing practice and influence policies for the year ahead.
Kerrin MacPhie, director of sales at ACC Liverpool, said: “The RCN Congress is an important date on the conference calendar, we look forward to welcoming delegates back to Liverpool and are excited at the prospect of hosting the ‘party night’ in the exhibition halls, which will ensure that 2017 is a year to be remembered.”
