Retailer Costcutter Supermarkets Group left its legacy in Liverpool following its annual conference by donating food to more than 500 people across Merseyside.
A total of 950 delegates gathered at ACC Liverpool, home to BT Convention Centre, Echo Arena and Exhibition Centre Liverpool, for a suppliers exhibition, to hear business updates, network with colleagues and learn about new products and ranges for the forthcoming year.
The waterfront venue introduced Costcutter Supermarkets Group to the Liverpool branch of the YMCA to arrange the donation at the end of the two-day retailer and supplier event.
Non-perishable items were donated from product demonstrations. They went towards supporting 560 people staying at 14 hostels across the region.
Peter Boyle, YMCA project development officer, said: “We greatly appreciate any donations that supporters can make for YMCA members, hostels and housing schemes across the region.
“We were able to deliver to a total of 560 people in Merseyside which was phenomenal and an enormously generous gesture by Costcutter Supermarkets Group. We are grateful to the ACC Liverpool team for introducing us to their client.”
The ACC Liverpool Group’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) strategy aims to link the association, corporate and agent sectors with the local community.
Lynsey Watson, head of HR at The ACC Liverpool Group, said: “We work closely with vital organisations such as the YMCA to offer assistance wherever possible. This is a fantastic example of how events can leave a lasting legacy in the city.”

Event management company First Event delivered the conference, which was held at ACC Liverpool for the first time.
