Since opening in 2008, ACC Liverpool, home to BT Convention Centre and Echo Arena, has held over 350 events and welcomed over 730,000 people through its doors. Now in its second year and taking the global events industry by storm, ACC Liverpool has won a host of new events helping to bolster the economy in England's Northwest.
ACC Liverpool has been chosen by The National Cancer Research Institute (NCRI) to host over 1500 guests for its annual conference in 2010. The event is set to take over all meeting rooms and 3,725sqm of exhibition space.
Sharon Vanloo, Scientific Events Manager at NCRI, said: "We have been looking for something fresh for some time now, both in terms of venue and destination. ACC Liverpool is one of the newest convention centres in the UK and is also one of the few UK-based convention centres that can accommodate our event under one roof; an important consideration for us. There are also strong ties with oncology in the region, including the Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation and the Marie Curie hospital to name but a few."
Continuing with healthcare industry wins, the European College of Sport Science (ECSS) will be hosting their 16th annual 3 day congress in July 2011. Professor Tim Cable from ECSS said: "ACC Liverpool provides a multipurpose centre for a conference venue. The well designed space provides us with the opportunity of hosting the many concurrent sessions we need for our expected attendance of 2,500 delegates, with ample accommodation for trade exhibitors to display adjacent to catering facilities.
Its location within close walking distance to reputable hotels and attractions such as the Albert Dock also provides a welcome benefit." Creating a hat trick of healthcare industry wins, ACC Liverpool is to host an event for the Roald Dahl Haemostasis and Thrombosis Centre, part of Royal Liverpool University Hospital in July 2012. Technology, award winning green credentials, accessibility and un-paralleled customer service levels have all proved to be key influencers for clients choosing ACC Liverpool.
Jacquie Rogers, General Manager said: "We are extremely pleased to welcome such a prestigious list of clients to ACC Liverpool. The clients that are coming to us are a reflection of the commitment that we have to surpassing expectations and to really driving Liverpool forward as the UK's pre-eminent destination for meetings, events and exhibitions".
