Liverpool Echo

The Liverpool Echo forms part of the fabric of Liverpool. Since 1879 the people’s newspaper has documented, championed and challenged the city’s development, no more so than in its bid to win the accolade of European Capital of Culture 2008.

Part of the culture of the city, the Liverpool Echo has reported on some of the most famous and infamous stories connected to Merseyside as well as major events internationally. The newspaper has photographed many of the city’s most iconic figures from the Beatles to the major sporting achievements of the city’s famous football clubs.

As Liverpool transforms into a world class city to both live and work, the Liverpool Echo is also developing to meet the news and information needs of a contemporary society. The newly launched liverpoolecho.co.uk is one of the latest extensions of the Echo product portfolio, bringing you news, sport and entertainment 24/7. In addition, EchoTV, a narrowcast digital TV channel has recently launched and can now be watched in 100 city centre black cabs.

As an iconic Liverpool brand, it’s fitting that the Liverpool Echo has come together with the magnificent new Arena, a building that will itself soon become an structural icon on Liverpool's world famous waterfront.

The Liverpool Echo is owned by Trinity Mirror. In the North West and North Wales, Trinity Mirror publishes more than 60 media brands including award-winning newspaper titles such as the Liverpool Echo, Daily Post, Liverpool Daily Post, Chester Chronicle, Huddersfield Daily Examiner, weekly newspapers, magazines, websites, events and much more. With eight in 10 adults reading one or more of these titles every week, and a total North West audience of more than 1.8 million, it is the area's largest local newspaper publisher. The Liverpool Echo is the UK’s second largest regional evening title in the UK by circulation.
