About us
ACC Liverpool is a landmark regeneration project on the outstanding Mersey River Waterfront sited next to the famous grade one listed Albert Dock.
Designed by the award winning architects Wilkinson Eyre, ACC Liverpool houses the versatile BT Convention Centre with facilities including a 1,350 seat auditorium, 18 breakout rooms, up to 7000m2 of exhibition space and the Echo Arena Liverpool capable of seating over 10,000 concert goers.
It is also one of the most sustainable venues in Europe - designed to produce half the CO2 emissions it would without any environmentally-friendly measures.
The project has been funded by English Partnerships (now Homes and Communities Agency), the EU Objective 1 Programme, Northwest Development Agency and Liverpool City Council. Working closely with the funding partners, Urban Regeneration Company Liverpool Vision co-ordinated the delivery of the project, which now forms a vitally important element of the rejuvenated city centre waterfront.
ACC Liverpool opened in January 2008 with the launch event for Liverpool as European Capital of Culture. Full details about the project and the rest of the Kings Dock development, as well as a gallery of photographs about the building can be found on the Kings Waterfront website – click on the link under related stuff on this page.
